Representa também as relações entre cores primárias, secundárias e terciárias, de acordo com as teorias da cor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;História&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Círculo de Goethe&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;No século XVIII, o escritor e cientista &lt;a href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goethe"&gt;Wolfgang Von Goethe&lt;/a&gt; escreveu a obra Da Teoria das Cores, onde propunha uma nova teoria das cores em oposição à teoria de Newton. Goethe fez diversas observações corretas sobre a natureza das cores, especialmente sobre o aspecto da percepção emocional e psicológica.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Esfera de Runge&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em 1810, inspirado no trabalho de Goethe, o pintor &lt;a href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipp_Otto_Runge"&gt;Phillip Otto Runge&lt;/a&gt; publicou a obra A Esfera das Cores, onde descreve um esquema tridimensional para organizar todas as cores de acordo com a sua tonalidade, brilho e saturação. Os tons puros eram localizados à volta do equador. O eixo central era uma escala de valores cinza, desde o preto no fundo ao branco no topo. Na superfície da esfera, as cores eram distribuídas do tom mais escuro ao tom puro e até ao tom mais claro. Teoricamente, as misturas intermédias estavam dentro da esfera. Esta esfera de cores foi mais tarde desenvolvida por Johannes Itten.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Árvore de Munsell&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O sistema de cores de Munsell é um sistema de ordenamento de cores perceptualmente uniforme que possibilita um arranjo tridimensional das cores num espaço cilindrico de três eixos e que permite especificar uma determinada cor através de três dimensões. Foi criado pelo professor Albert H. Munsell na primeira década do século XX. Na ilustração, o matiz (hue) é disposto no eixo circular, a pureza da cor (chroma) no eixo radial e a luminosidade (value) no eixo vertical.&lt;br /&gt;Os conceitos matiz, pureza, luminosidade empregados por Munsell na definição de uma cor são usadas universalmente, tendo dado origem, inclusive, a nomes de modelos de cor como HSV, HLS, HSB e outros.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Espaço CIE&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Nos estudos sobre a percepção da cor, o espaço &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIE_1931_color_space"&gt;CIE&lt;/a&gt; foi uma das primeiras gamas de cores matematicamente definidas.
